St. Anne’s Cup and Family Fun Day
Not a new offer, but a new local event in Colchester. This comes from the Councils’ homepage:
Residents of the St. Anne’s area, Colchester, can get involved in football fun with the forthcoming St. Anne’s Cup and Family Fun day.
The event, a fun-packed football tournament, will take place Sunday 7 Feb 2010 11am – 4pm. It will take place at the Harwich Road multi-use games area, next to the community centre, and is being organised by the St. Anne’s Neighbourhood Action Panel.
There will be two competition categories- under 16s and under 12s, and teams should consist of no more than eight players. Free food and drink will be provided to the players and their family members, and winning teams will be awarded with medals.
Councillor Tim Young, Portfolio Holder for Street and Waste Services said: “This is a fantastic event, which will really help build community spirit and also provide a fun sporting activity for young people to participate in.
“I would encourage everyone to get involved as this tournament promises to be an enjoyable event for everyone.”
Anyone wishing to participate and register as a team player should do so by 29 January 2010. For further information and to get involved please contact Community street wardens- Samantha Lancaster (0777036 5331) or Brendan Gibbs (07940021042) .
